A new report has been released suggesting that the 2014 BMW M4 and M3 could be released as early as this Thursday, December 12.
According to BMWBlog, BMW is looking to release both the M4 and M3 in conjunction with the release of Sony’s latest iteration in the Gran Turismo series, Gran Turismo 6. Sony has already confirmed that gamers will be able to download a production version of the M4 for use in GT6, making it the first video game to have BMW’s newest M car.
If BMW were not to release images of the real M4 on Thursday, they face the fact that the first images of the M4 will not be of a real car, but computer generated. While we’re not marketing experts, BMW will likely want to, at the very least, release images of the M4 and M3 on Thursday — a sentiment that BMWBlog”s report agrees with.
The online debut on Thursday predates the official reveal by a good month. The BMW M4 and M3 are set to be revealed in the flesh at the 2014 NAIAS in Detroit.
While the stying may still be a mystery, BMW has confirmed that both cars will feature a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine good for 430 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
We will bring you images of the 2014 M4 and M3 as soon as they are available. For more BMW news, check out our BMW hub right here.
