A seller has listed none other than Ayrton Senna’s Acura NSX for sale on eBay Motors.
The Portuguese seller claims to have owned the car for 17 years after purchasing the car some time after Senna’s death. According to him, the car only has 31,000 original miles and remains in the same condition as when Senna owned it.
Senna was given three NSX models for his personal use — a red model for his Villa in Portugal, a black model for his home in Brazil and the one for sale, another black car (chassis #000999) that was gifted to him by personal mentor and sponsor Antonio de Almeida Braga. Braga had the car stored at his palace near the Estoril circuit in Portugal.
The seller claims the car up for auction was discussed on pages 25 and 86 of Adrianne Galisteu’s book, Adriane: My Like With Ayrton. Galisteu was Senna’s girlfriend at the time of his death in 1994. We have not had the chance to check the book ourselves. If one of you guys has read the book, please let us know in the comments!
Currently the car sits at a price of £50,301, or approximately $78,102 USD with 8 days remaining. Note: The price is undoubtedly way higher than this by now.
While we know that Ayrton Senna did in fact have three examples of the car he helped develop, any prospective bidders should talk to the seller before bidding to see about tracking down some sort of paperwork.
