In what can only be described as one of the coolest tests ever, Sport Auto had the opportunity to race the brand
new Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse against the race-ready Gallardo Super Trofeo.
The race, which took place at Hockenheim in Germany is the first time both cars have been tested head-to-head on a track. Sport Auto refrained from doing any camera pieces, leaving us with just the glorious sounds of both V10 engines at full chat around the GP circuit.
If you notice the end of the video, the speedometer is pegged hard at 340 km/h (~ 200 mph) — which is pretty damn impressive if they were able to achieve that speed around Hockenheim. Last we checked, none of the straights would be long enough (maybe we’re wrong?). Either way, the Squadra Corse only seems to run out of juice at the very top end of the range, and even then it could probably go a bit faster if the limiter was removed.
We assume the full review will be made available in the September edition of Sport Auto, so if you live in Germany keep a look out.
Short post from us on this one. Check out the video below — V10 engines have an easy time explaining themselves.
